Automotive Brake Pad Programs & Certified Supply
Direct Answer
JSW supports automotive brake-pad programs, but the manufacturing model is different from JSW's certified in-house caliper and brake-hose scope.
For specified current CCC brake-lining programs, the certificates identify JSW as the certification applicant and producer while separately identifying the certified physical manufacturing enterprises.
This distinction is part of JSW's public manufacturing-boundary policy.
Scope
This capability covers specified brake-pad programs with product-specific CCC evidence. The certified physical manufacturing enterprises remain those stated on the applicable certificates.
Product-Specific Certification
Current evidence includes CCC documentation for specified automotive disc-brake-lining programs.
Certification applies only to the exact formulas, model ranges, applicant/producer identity and manufacturing enterprise stated in each certificate.
The status of one certificate must not be generalized to all JSW brake pads.
Current Public Evidence
E-004 — CCC Brake Lining Certificate — Formula L Product-specific scope only.
E-005 — CCC Brake Lining Certificate — Formula N Product-specific scope only.
E-006 — CCC Brake Lining Certificate — V-ONE Public range must remain limited to the model range stated in the certificate, including W001 / W002 / W003 / W004–W450 where applicable.
Manufacturing Responsibility
For these certified brake-pad programs:
- JSW's certification/product role is stated on the certificate;
- the physical manufacturing enterprise is separately identified;
- the physical manufacturing enterprise must not be replaced by JSW in public wording;
- certification must not be extended beyond the stated product range.
This is an example of a controlled manufacturing-partner model rather than a blanket in-house manufacturing claim.
OEM / ODM Brake-Pad Projects
Depending on the project, JSW can review:
- target application;
- product definition;
- required friction-product program;
- certification and target-market requirements;
- qualified manufacturing-enterprise responsibility;
- packaging, branding and supply requirements;
- validation or customer approval requirements.
A new project does not automatically inherit the certification status of an existing certified program.
Quality and Evidence
Product-specific certification is treated separately from company-level quality-management certification.
The public website should therefore answer two different questions:
- Who manages or supplies the product program?
- Which physical manufacturing enterprise and product range are actually covered by the certificate?
Both should remain visible where relevant.
Evidence
- E-004 — CCC Brake Lining Certificate — Formula L — product-specific scope only.
- E-005 — CCC Brake Lining Certificate — Formula N — product-specific scope only.
- E-006 — CCC Brake Lining Certificate — V-ONE — public range remains limited to the model range stated in the certificate.
Common Questions
Are JSW brake pads CCC certified?
Specified programs have current CCC documentation. Certification is product-specific and applies only to the formulas, models and manufacturing enterprises stated on the relevant certificate.
Does JSW manufacture all of these brake pads in its Chengdu facility?
No. The current CCC evidence for specified programs separately identifies external certified physical manufacturing enterprises.
Can an OEM customer use an existing CCC certificate for a new pad model?
Not automatically. Applicability depends on the exact certified product range and project requirements.
Why does JSW publish the manufacturing enterprise instead of hiding it?
Because product responsibility and physical manufacturing responsibility are different facts. Keeping that boundary visible reduces procurement and compliance ambiguity.
RF RACER Boundary
RF-branded pad products, end-user product positioning and vehicle/application selection belong to the RF RACER product system.
